Tae Kwon Do What is Tae Kwon Do? Tae Kwon Do emphasizes powerful, often high kicks and fast, dynamic techniques combined with control, discipline and focus. "Tae" means to jump or kick with the foot. "Kwon" means to punch or strike with the hand and "Do" means a philosophical way of life. Together "Tae Kwon Do" means the way of foot and fist training.
Everyone can benefit from self-defense. The speed of Tae Kwon Do techniques creates power, which is not dependent on size or strength. Kicking techniques utilize the strongest part of the body - the legs, a crucial asset if use of the arms is ineffective.
